The oriental pattern mostly has a center medallion, border & corners. They are all hand knotted These are the royal designs and are always in vogue. Typical Persian names being Kashan, Kerman, Isfahan, Bidjar& Tabriz.In case of silk carpets – mostly being produced in the northern part of India. The silk thread used is from mulberry silk. In case of silk on cotton the warp/pile is cotton and the weft is silk. Whereas in case of silk on silk carpet both are silk.
