The oriental pattern mostly has a center medallion, border & corners. They are all hand knotted These are the royal designs and are always in vogue. Typical Persian names being Kashan, Kerman, Isfahan, Bidjar& Tabriz. In case of wool carpets – In India they are mostly being produced in the central part. The pile is mostly merino sheep wool the finest for handmade carpets. In case of wool on cotton the warp/pile is wool and the weft is cotton. Whereas in case of wool on wool carpet both are wool.
