Mr Channi Kochar our founder being an officer from Indian Army started with a humble beginning. There after we continuously strived to reinforce and evolve our selves the best in the carpet and textiles in Jaipur.

Channi Carpets and Textiles was incorporated in 1989 by our Patriarch Mr. (Ex-Capt.) Charanjit Singh Kochar, fondly known as Channi (eponymously named)in carpet trade and tourism business. In 1998, his brother (Colonel.) Balbir Kochar also joined him to grow and expand the business.

Both brothers prior to the handmade carpet and hand block printing business served honorably and proudly in the Indian Army.

Since inception, our simple vision and strong focus has been on providing high quality goods to our discerning clientele and follow it up with exceptional customer service. In recognition of the contribution made by our founder Mr. Channi Kochar the Government of Rajasthan has awarded him the 'Rajasthan Gaurav Medal' (which translates into 'The Pride of Rajasthan') for promoting Rajasthan carpets and textiles all over the world.

Our carpets range includes wool, oriental, persian, silk, afghani, southwestern, bukhara, hamadaan, bizarre, kashan, kilim, purdah and also antique carpets. In our textile section we have an exclusive range of home décor and apparel items including beautiful shawls, stoles, scarves, organic fabrics, curtains, bed spreads, table covers, and quilts. In addition, we offer express service for custom tailoring and dresses.

Our facility has been designed to have a large open area for demonstration of hand block printing and carpet looms to show carpet knotting, separation, clipping, washing, drying, and finishing.

A visit to our facility turns out to be an educative experience for our guests. Attached to this note there are two appendices to illustrate the entire hand block printing and handmade carpet process in methodical manner.
